As is customary this time of year, EA Sports are promoting the 2011 FIFA Interactive World Cup, which takes place online each year on the latest FIFA title, in this case FIFA 11. The PS3 Version last year hosted over 750,000 gamers and this years tournament promises to be even bigger.
The format is pretty simple, six ’seasons’ taking place in 6 consecutive calender months, from December 1st through to the 25th May. Simply sign up and play FIFA 11 online against other gamers. The top two ranked players from each season will then be invited to the live finals, which took place last year in Barcelona, Spain. There are also live events, taking place all over the world, with the winners from each day getting the opportunity to progress to the live final.
The prizes are pretty amazing too. This year they have a Sony Bravia 3D TV, PS3, PSP and of course copies of FIFA 11 up for grabs. The best part of all is it’s free to get involved, and you know you will be playing against top quality opponents!
You can enter now by visiting eu.playstation.com/fiwccompetition and adding your sign in details. The official site for the tournament, which hosts all the facts and figures about the current seasons can be found by going to www.fifa.com/fiwc
Good Luck to all those who enter, and we would love to hear from any of the Soccer Gaming community who actually take part in the tournament.
